How To Use A Google+ Community

69 Flares 69 Flares ×

Thank you to everyone who purchased the 2014 Blog Action Planner that went on sale on Friday. Over the weekend, I sent out invitations to the private Google+ Community for those who bought the planner. With Facebook becoming more strict with their algorithms and what content your readers actually get to see, a lot of people are migrating over to Google+.

I’ve been dabbling with it since the New Year, and I have to say I enjoy it more than Facebook. I made a quick Google+ Community Guide for my new members that I thought I’d share with you all, especially if you’ve been thinking about making the switch over. Feel free to share this on social networks like Pinterest. If you have any questions pertaining to Google+, leave them in the comments. Maybe I’ll make another quick guide for you!

Will you be sending out another round of invites to google+? I downloaded the blog planner late last night…and its amazing by the way. I have no clue how long it took you to put it together but its extremely helpful. The best blog planner I’ve come across so far…so thank you!

Just bought your planner! One word – impressive! It’s so thorough and I can’t wait to use it! This post about Google+ was also very helpful. I just started using it within the last couple of weeks so any advice/tips I can get is helpful! Thanks Laura!

I’m so glad you’re enjoying the planner! Good to see you over in the Google+ Community. 2014 is gonna be an awesome blogging year.

  • I love Google+ . I’ve been considering leaving Facebook for G+ for several months now. I’m more and more attracted to it.

Yea, I’ve been playing around with Google+ since the beginning of January and I’m hooked. Personally, I think it’s way better for brands than Facebook. Not to mention free.

  • Oh thank you so much for this! Out of all my social medias, I find Google+ to be the hardest to take part in…not sure why, maybe because I don’t know how to use it. I feel like and “outsider” and have stopped posting to it lately… lol! Going to go through these steps and get back on it!

No problem, Jessica! If you have any more questions regarding Google+, please let me know and I’ll do my best to answer them visually.

Understanding Google+ has been on my list of things to do. Thank you for this post!

No problem, Alisha! If you have anymore questions regarding Google+, please let me know.

  • Excellent post Laura!! Thanks for sharing. Also I didn’t see any emails regarding the G+ group for those of us who purchased the planner. I’ll check again and see if something came in now.

  • This is fantastic! Looking forward to seeing what the community has to offer. It’s already buzzing. I’ll contribute when I get some time tomorrow.

  • I’ve just really started trying to use Google+ regularly in the last couple of weeks, and so I’ve been joining a few communities to get connected. I also had no idea that you could use these different text styles. Thanks for these tips!

  • Thanks for this article, im going to dabble in this when i get home.

I don’t really use Google plus or the Google community at all. Recently I have been commenting on people’s blog post though. I’ll start using it a bit more to network and meet new people. 🙂

  • This is great, and I spotted it just in time as this year I’m planning to work harder at G+ (last few months was FB focus).

  • This is great! I have a G+ page but have NO IDEA how to use it! LOL!! One Q i do have… if I am in multiple similar communities (Crossfit) and I want to post a video in each one, do I have to go to each community to do that? and if so, does it post on my home feed so everyone else sees it each time? I don’t want to bombard people who are not interested in Crossfit to have to see 5 of the same Crossfit video come across their page just because I want to share it with all the individual Crossfit Communities I am a pat of. Thanks! Love the post and the blog!!

BTW I purchased your Blog Content Planner and have been slow to get started using it, however, since I have I LOVE IT. Thanks for making beautiful organizational items. The world is a better place for it. seriously. (also, are you still adding people to the G+ community? I don’t think I got one.But since I don’t know how to use it, maybe I just don’t know that I got it! LOL.
