I’m not a big… fashion person.
For the last few months my wardrobe has consisted of black jeans, a black tee, black sweatshirt & of course, black boots. Everyday. I’ve turned into your typical New Yorker. The all black started with me mourning for the return of warm weather, and just stuck because it was convenient. But Spring is finally here, the weather is still being bi-polar, some days it’s nice, the next day it’s snowing… but the temperatures are slowly rising. With the return of Spring means the return of some colors to my wardrobe. And what does this girl love more than black? Prints. Whether it’s five panel hats or swimsuits, I live for prints. Now I’m not really an Adidas girl as it’s Nike all day over here. But this morning when I came across this collaboration that Adidas recently launched, I am definitely going to have to make an exception and add some pieces to my wardrobe.
With the 2014 FIFA World Cup just weeks away, Adidas Original released their collaboration with local Brazilian brand, Farm for the Spring/Summer 2014 season. The collection makes use of colorful, tropical prints across a range of products including tank tops, shorts, jackets, trousers, as well as accessories in the form of bags and backpacks. The collection was released on April 1st and can now be purchased from the Adidas online shop.
september is a few days away. most college students have moved back into their dorms. some kids have already started school. ugh, summer is officially over. just because the warm weather is leaving new york, it doesn’t mean i can’t at least dream about it.
today we are going to make our way over to cape town, south africa to the discrete and elegant POD boutique hotel. the hotel is conveniently positioned so that all of its 15 rooms have extensive views over one or two of the following landmarks: camps bay beach, table mountain, lions head or the 12 apostles. each room is defined by an open space layout, with a color palette deriving from materials such as slate, timber and granite. surprisingly, the rates for the POD boutique hotel are reasonable ranging anywhere from $230-$793 a night. not bad. not bad all all.
this is would definitely be a nice fall trip for just the mister + i since we both haven’t been to africa yet. and apparently during the months of october and november there are wonderful flowers blooming, the beaches are relatively empty and hotels give some the best deals of the season. as you can see from above, as a lover of prints i would go HAM when traveling to africa. i’d make sure to pack mostly beautiful prints as well as african inspired jewelry.
never in a thousand years have i been so excited for a design collaboration, especially with target. last year was the first time i made a clothing purchase from target and was impressed. this fall, target gave me even more of a reason to be excited. 3.1 phillip lim for target is set to launch at target.com and target stores nationwide on september 15. the collection features apparel and accessories for women and men, including amazing shoes and super chic bags. the collection ranges in price from $19.99 to $299.99 for apparel and $19.99 to $59.99 for accessories.
this fall collection consists of many versatile pieces that you can easily mix and match from day to night. full of work-appropriate dresses, trousers, sweaters and tanks, it literally has me ready to revamp my professional wardrobe this season. not to mention, there’s a few cute pajama sets that have me ready to ‘classy’ up my bedtime attire.. something the mister should be proud of. the bags, oh the bags.. i want each and every bag. after looking through the lookbook, i’m almost positive i need to get absolutely everything from this collection. every. last. thing. i shared a few things that are a must-have from the collection this fall. even included some things i want to pick up for the mister. if you haven’t yet, be sure to check out the full 3.1 phillip lim for target lookbook.
are you excited about the collaboration? what are your favorite pieces?
as of lately, ive been on such a floral + pattern high. love wearing a pop of either with my rather plain attire. summer has officially started + it’s time to start racking up on bathing suits if you haven’t already. i came across this awesome designer, zimmermann and had to share with you some of their awesome designs. at the moment, the price range is definitely in the splurge range for a bathing suit — but a girl can dream.
